By plane – Limoges (25mins), Poitiers (90mins), Bordeaux (2hrs).
Ferry – St Malo and Cherbourg 5 hours by car, Caen (4.5 hours), Calais (7 hours)
The property is situated in the french countryside, it was originally the farmhouse in the grounds of the working farm chateau, farming the famous Limousin Beef. Now the farmhouse is separate from the working farm, with a view of the Chateau and very attractive countryside.
Chabanais is a 15 minute walk, 5 minute drive, where you will find 3 boulongerie and Patisserie( Bakers), Boucherie (butchers), restaurants , bars, super market, banks and takeaways if needed.
The train station is in Chabanais with access to either Angoulême or Limoges and from there the rest of France via TGV.
Limoges airport is only 25 minutes from the property flying from London , East midlands, Liverpool, Manchester.
Limoges city center, the place to buy the famous porcelaine, and amazing ancient city, with great site seeing tours and plenty of shops.
Ancient city of Angoulême is 45 mins away, with great places to at and fabulous ambience.
Cognac is only 1 hour away, where you can visit all the cognac houses, a definite must , its a great day out, beautiful city too. The cognac Blues festival is always around the beginning of July, a great weekend if you get the chance.
Bordeaux is a little further , but doable for a day trip. A magnificent city and worth the drive.
The Atlantic coast is about 90 minutes away, again a good day trip and worth a visit.
